D'arcy Wretzky sentenced to six days in prison for charges relating to a ticket she received for failing to control her horses
Former Smashing Pumpkins bassist D'Arcy Wretzky has reportedly been jailed in relation to a 2009 incident when she allowed her horses to wander off her farm.
It has been more than 10 years since Wretzky left Smashing Pumpkins, apparently to pursue an acting career. She played no role in the band's 2006 reunion ? singer Billy Corgan is the only original member in the group's current incarnation. Instead, Wretzky now lives on a farm in Michigan where she keeps horses.
In 2009, her ex-boyfriend Jeff Khoshaba told TMZ that some of these horses "somehow got out of their enclosures". They apparently left Wretzky's farm and ran amok through a neighbour's land in South Haven.
Escaped animals are a minor offence listed as "animals running at large". However, Wretzky failed to pay her ticket and missed four consecutive court dates, leading to a warrant for her arrest. On Tuesday, police arrested her for failing to appear in court, and she has been sentenced to six days in jail. Wretzky will be released on Valentine's Day.
